YouTube Music Video Uploading Tips!
Musicians (and business owners) like to use YouTube fan videos to get across. Maybe even yours… that is if they can. Your YouTube uploading settings might prevent the artist from helping you take this thing to the next level by using your videos directly from your channel so here are things to remember.

Before uploading.. If you allow your file to be downloaded, what will the file name be? Answer: Whatever your file is called when you upload it. You might rename the file with the Artist Name - Song Title - Date… and/or your channel name if you like.
There are images generated from your video that can be selected as the preview image- or if you like - you can upload a different screen shot or image that you like better - even later after publishing.
This is Key: When selecting the “Audience” say No, it’s not made for kids. This does not mean it is inappropriate for children to view - it means - it is not explicitly made for children which brings a big bundle of rules and restrictions!!! For example no commenting, sharing, adding to playlists and the video requires a review before it is released. Here is what YouTube says about it:
What happens when your YOUTUBE content is set as Made for Kids (from YOUTUBE Help)“We limit data collection and use on made for kids content to comply with the law. This means we need to restrict or disable certain features like comments, notifications, and others (sharing and playlists). and… we don’t serve personalized ads on kids content, as required by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and/or other applicable laws...”
Allow commenting - remember the old saying all press is good press? You can always delete comments if they really are offensive.
Allow sharing and playlist adds. It is fun to watch your video view count go up and even more fun to see it play on an artists’ website, Instagram, or Facebook page! Add something in the description like - Hey LKWAY - if you like this you can share it freely - simply credit me and let me know here with a comment or on my Facebook/Insta page!
